Next up is a new exciting ASA colour...... Drum roll for................. Black&Stacker Orange !

So we have a few more Power Tool colours in the pipeline, but we're always happy to hear requests!

Following on from our Power Tool release of Goby green yesterday we thought we would also run a another new colour off today !

A big warm welcome to our New ASA colour,Miltalkee Red ! Just waiting for a phone call at this point and a letter lol !

We have one more colour to release and then a price that's going to make it impossible to say no too !

First job of the day: push out all the flanges!

More importantly, more power tool colours to go with our Popular PETG DeFault yellow and Nikita blue !

We have another two new power tool colours to do before the weekend, any guess what they are !

Good evening fellow printers!

Firstly, apologies for the complete radio silence this year. The lack of updates has been truly abysmal!

So, let’s see if we can change that with a pretty major update 😊

Today marked the very first production run of our brand new MK20 spool! This project has taken a monumental amount of effort to bring to life.

From the initial design work and costings, through to making sure we could actually manufacture them at scale, this has been one of the most challenging projects we have undertaken in years.

The process has involved:

Developing a hot melt adhesive with a UK manufacturer

Designing in-house and building in-house automated assembly machinery (still ongoing)

Creating our Panda Food refill system to help transition from the MK19 to the new MK20.

Finding local manufacturers for both the paper stock and pressing process

Developing new cardboard cores compatible with both our refill system and other leading refill spool platforms

Moving over to locally manufactured labels to complete the package

The MK20 is arguably long overdue, but getting everything to align while still hitting a viable price point has been incredibly difficult.

To add to the challenge, the recent escalation in Iran has placed huge pressure on both polymer and paper pricing, creating no end of additional work behind the scenes.

Thankfully though, today was a genuinely amazing moment for us. After all the development work, we finally had the MK20 running live on the production line!

Okay, the labels are not due until Tuesday next week, but just seeing them running off the line for the first time was incredibly cool 😊

So the first product off is Woodchucker, these will be released for sale on Wednesday next week ! Followed by our Battle ship Grey :-).

Once again thank you for all your support and kind words, although this transition has been a painful experience we feel in the long run this spool upgrade is worth it :-) .

So excited about this next chapter in 3DQF and our spool design! All I can say at the moment is We've taken onboard your feedback and are actively addressing your concerns!

I can't tell you the herculean challenge needed for these to be manufactured in the UK at a price point that doesn't affect our retail price !

And all whilst keeping the raw material manufactured in the Northwest of England!

Hope you all had a merry Christmas and plenty of food and family time ! We certainly embraced how Christmas and the new year fell this year with the factory pretty much closed for two weeks l ! Some much needed down time for our small but growing team of dedicated spaghetti makers!

I had to share this as I love doing this filament, and this never gets boring seeing wood chucker go down so smoothly !
