Figured it was time for a little reintroduction since there are a lot of new followers here.

I’m Chris, the guy behind the camera at 26 North. I’ve been a wedding photographer for over 10 years now and have photographed more than 500 weddings along the way. Safe to say I’ve seen a lot, learned a lot, and still love what I do.

Outside of photography, I’m married, have two teenage kids who keep life interesting, and a dog who pretty much thinks he runs the house.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me making pizzas, trying new gear, or just hanging out with my family and friends.

In all seriousness, I may not be in everyone’s budget or everyone’s style, but whoever you hire make sure you do your homework. Have them show you full galleries, not just the highlight reel you see on Instagram.

A few other things you should be looking for when choosing your wedding photographer:

Make sure they have experience shooting weddings, not just styled shoots or portraits. Weddings move fast and there are no do overs.

Ask how they handle difficult lighting situations like dark reception halls, harsh sun, or rainy days.

Make sure they have backup gear. Cameras fail, cards corrupt, and professionals always have a plan B.

Ask about their timeline guidance. A good photographer helps your day run smoothly, not just shows up and clicks a button.

Check their reviews.

Most importantly, make sure you actually like them. Your photographer is with you almost the entire wedding day. The vibe matters.

I’ve shot this specific scene so many times I could probably do it blindfolded, but the real win has been perfecting the science behind the art. With my Godox lights and MagMod kit in hand, I’ve dialed in a system that guarantees consistent, epic results every time the music starts to fade.

Wedding party all in white. Not traditional, but I’m kinda here for it. I love when couples do their own thing instead of worrying about the “rules.”

Walking into this week with the first wedding of the year to edit.

Once we get into the swing of things over here I’ll be back at it.
