Plaster curtains fully covered and masked any potential window or view, with a tightness that looks almost suffocating, deliberately shutting out or blocking whatever may lie on the other side. 

Do feelings of dread or anticipation maintain this barrier from within? Is there truly nothing beyond these curtains, or is a world being obscured, hidden from sight?
