Years ago, before Sphere became one of the most talked-about immersive venues in the world, we were already seeing the problem behind the spectacle:

The content was getting too big for traditional systems to handle.

At VFX Technologies, we were approached early on to help solve the compute demands required to render and process ultra-high-resolution immersive content. Around that same era, we were also supporting work connected to Intel’s VR / volumetric media lab ecosystem, where the industry was experimenting with massive capture volumes, extreme-resolution workflows, and new ways to create immersive experiences.

That is why the recent WSJ article on Sphere stood out to me.

Sphere is not just a venue story. It is a proof point for an entire technical movement: immersive media, high-resolution LED environments, AI-assisted content creation, real-time rendering, massive storage, and the compute infrastructure needed to make all of it possible.

What looks magical to the audience is usually the result of years of engineering behind the scenes.

For us, this is a reminder that VFX Technologies has been part of this evolution from the early days.
