Hello! I'm Tahnee, an ARtist and animator! I love working on fun, goofy and cute projects, and making nice things exist with magical mediums! Here are a few XR pieces from the last few years. I got a pair of @snapchat @spectacles and THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN!!! It was great catching up with friends and making new ones at LensFest! As a refugee coming from Spark (all user-made IG filters are going away in January), I needed a new home to go to. As an ARtist/animator, I’m finding Snap’s platform easy enough to pick up, and am challenging myself to make lots of Spectacles projects! The Spectacles are really easy to use and fun with friends (which to me is a priority with AR).
1. Someone had to make #NyanCat! 🌈😸
2. IT IS FALL IN CALIFORNIA!!!!
3. The joy of flying Turty around
4. Joy maximized with attacking cities with a kaiju

MODERN SURVEILLANCE: some drawings I unearthed from 2020. Can we trust wearing cameras on our faces? Can we trust others? What are we signing up for, as individuals and society?
I was obsessed with the show Spy in the Wild when I drew this (love me a good nature doc, the people are always the most interesting animals in them) and it got me wondering what a humanoid planted to observe humans would look like.
AI chatbots are essentially that now. But what if they were walking around, ordering coffees next to us in line? Casually eavesdropping? To liken it to Spy in the Wild, who is doing what with this data— are there even humans on the other side, or is this all a simulation?
All of this is just fiction-frenzied brain-food. I have so much dystopian scifi to write and share.
I did not like wearing a camera on my face all day, it made me uncomfortable for everyone around me. Had it been an open-sourced device that I had full control over, I would have felt very differently. No shade at any friends who are enjoying camera glasses— they were really excellent for certain things, and I’ve definitely missed documenting life moments I wish I had been able to record. But that’s what a sketchbook can be for!

This painting was a gift for some dear friends who helped take care of my grandma, who passed last year. These flowers kept a lovely lively touch on the dining table, something my grandma appreciated, especially during lively breakfast conversations. And these bouquets lasted very long, what felt like a month or more! So I decided to make a bouquet that would really last forever.

Lil’ Octo! Gosh there has been so much happening lately that I need to post about, but in the meantime here’s a little sketch I did when in recovery mode! (My body’s battery takes longer to recharge than most). I started using an #astropad iPad Mini screen covering + Pencil tip, and I can say that while it isn’t exactly like paper, nor a Wacom, it does prevent the Apple Pencil tip from iceskating all over the screen, so I do like it. It does dampen screen colors a little because it’s so thick. But drawing is more pleasant!
Shoutout to the new #Procreate brushes. I still stand by Rebelle (desktop) for having THE best digital pencil out there, but at that point, you might ad well just draw with an actual pencil! (I feel like my life revolves around pencils sometimes).
