“Now that I'm thinking about it, working with Elan so many years ago was one
of the first times I really got a chance to make something from scratch. It wasn't a transaction
and we weren't on the clock, just being creative for the sake of it. We were outside
recording the crows, the wind, and the engine on my car starting for the intro to a song and it made me feel like a
real artist as funny as that sounds. A world away from buying beats on the internet and then paying for a hour or 2 to record.
Ruby room always felt like a home cause it was on Aurora, the same street that I grew up on 5 min away
and the energy in that studio was always genuine and made me feel like Nima and Elan actually
gave a shit about how I was feeling. Especially Nima...always grinning :) I have immense respect
for their talent and dedication to helping younger artists but what sticks with me the most is how much

“The communal love for music in the ruby room provided a space where bonds were unified and friends became family. My first time coming to RR was in I believe 2017-2018 after constantly hearing the stories of all the jam sessions my close collaborators were having. I cant for the life of me remember my first time at ruby room, but I found myself there constantly wanting to obtain as much knowledge as possible in the short amount of time allotted. No session ever felt long enough, but that was the thrill that always brought me back. The day I decided to drop out of college was because of ruby room. I was in a session with Elan & Key that got interrupted when I had to go to class. At the time I was studying audio engineering and felt like an idiot for leaving an active studio session where I was inherently learning way more than being in a classroom. Elan & Nima both have played a quintessential role in shaping the sonic identify of young artist in the Seattle area in the recent years and continue to inspire us all.” - @_umoore
