Clara Webster and Lily Brodie Hayes use rich drone-based arrangements and layered vocals to evoke powerful emotions in their music, connecting people to each other on the basis of an honest shared human experience. Drawing from influences such as PJ Harvey, Lankum and SWANS, they reach beyond what we have already heard and make something new. Their debut EP Human Remains describes a process of transformation and growth, struggling with mental health difficulties and seeking out the pathways to self-improvement. Anenome express a refusal to accept the discrimination and mistreatment experienced by women everywhere and describe the pain this discrimination causes.
