I had a few days off last week, so I recorded a DJ mix "body cam" style, of all the 93-95 (and nu old) jungle tunes I played in Burlington VT a couple weeks ago. The party there was vinyl only, and I mostly stuck to my longtime personal go-to tracks (which I'll no doubt continue to overplay for years to come) as well as some unreleased pocket operator ones. There's an interactive track listing, showing what tunes are playing at any given moment. The mixing isn't perfect since it's one take (video would have given away edits 😄) but I think it's decent and representative of my vinyl sets. Probably a solid introduction if you don't normally check my mixes.

Back In Boston 😞 at least the weather is glorious here this weekend.@futureretrolondon and I are back on air tonight with an hour each of tracks (Ed first this time). The records I bought / were given in the UK haven't made it back yet, but I've got loads of fun stuff I potentially pulled to bring to the UK, and some of the records I played in Bristol which were in my carry-on bag. We have a last minute addition to our 15th Birthday lineup, 8205 Recordings label owner and talented DJ - Dev/Null .

For over 20 years, Dev/Null has been a fixture in experimental and underground dance music. Emerging in the late ’90s with manic, rave-infused breakcore, he toured Europe, the UK, and Japan, appearing at festivals like Club Transmediale and Ars Electronica. Shifting gears in the mid-2000s, he founded the influential site Blog to the Oldskool, dedicated to obscure ’92–’95 jungle and hardcore, while DJing an eclectic mix of styles in Boston clubs as part of DJ crews Hearthrob and SHAKE!. In 2013, he launched BTTO Radio, a biweekly jungle show co-run with Tim Reaper that continues to this day (alongside his NTS residency DRUM POETRY split with jungle/dnb legend Equinox). He also launched 8205 Recordings in 2013, a vinyl label unearthing previously unreleased early-’90s jungle gems. In the past few years, he’s released two “micro jungle” albums (written using po-33 micro-samplers) on Modern Urban Jazz and EVAR, as well as EPs, tracks and remixes on Future Retro London, Parallax, Deep Jungle and Hooversound.
