Martamorphosis presents the Savage Daughter dress.

The dress was created as a part of a vision for this project. It is a deeply meaningful collaboration of talents for which I could never express the intensity of gratitude that I feel. This video is a heartfelt ode to women.

So many things have magically come together for this to happen, and today I praise everyone who’s devoted their time, effort and talent to bring this to life:

Special thank you to Wyndreth Berginsdottir - the woman that wrote the song and so generously put it out there to inspire and empower millions of Savage Daughters out there. In her honour I am adding a fragment of the letter she wrote for us to read.

Here it is:

“It is an anthem of empowerment—not a song meant to serve a specific blood or people or skin. If you find strength and power and your own voice in it, this is your song and i hope you sing it with the strength and rage and beauty and power that is within you—whoever you are. Women are not ever Less Than. We are the singers of storms, the fire made flesh, the inexorable power of the mountains, the kind warmth and the cutting lash of the wind. We are half of the world and we have been taught to speak softly and behave mildly because we are easier to control that way. ;) I am honored that daughters of The First Peoples find a voice here. And daughters of the Sea Wolves. And the daughters of great-grandmothers, grandmothers, and mothers, wherever they lived and sang and died. All of you are their living legacies and they hear you singing; be assured they are proud of you. Whoever you are, you have a voice that cannot be silenced. Together, our voices cannot be unheard.”

This is an ode to women 💞

Since I got pregnant, I find myself in constant awe—mind blown by the capabilities of the female body.

Pregnancy is, in truth, an intense body–mind transformation journey. A process where you are confronted with fears and anxieties on so many levels. And it doesn’t stop at the end of pregnancy—it simply shifts into a new role of motherhood, with no break in between.

This journey has made me realize the true value of a healthy partnership, but first and foremost, the importance of a healthy relationship with yourself. Without first taking the time to heal on the deepest level, I wouldn’t have handled this pregnancy anywhere near as well as I am proud to say I have.

So I just want to say to all the women who have walked, are walking, and are yet to walk this path: I am in awe. I know without a doubt that you did, are doing, and will do the absolute best you can. And regardless of your circumstances, I hope that you feel proud—of yourself, of your body, and of the life that you’ve created, or yet to create. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon—and for the rest of your life.

A few years ago, I read a book called The Surrender Experiment by Michael Singer.
No, I didn’t just read that book—I inhaled it.

The philosophy behind Michael’s work is about surrendering control over your life and releasing it into the hands of the Creator. Ever since then, the idea of surrender has taken deep root in my mind, heart, and soul. It, slowly but surely, taken over my life.

A little earlier—before that life-changing book—I came across Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey.
That book explores how, since the beginning of humanity, through every ancient myth, story, and movie we’ve created and passed down, there runs one consistent pattern: the hero’s journey. Joseph explains how we, as humans, seem to create these stories based on our own lived experiences. We are each the hero of our own life—and every one of us is on a journey.

To me, these two books beautifully complement one another. Michael’s Surrender Experiment feels like an epic instruction manual for Joseph’s Hero’s Journey.

Now, as I approach my fourth decade of life, I can’t honestly say I know much about much in life.
But what I can say, truthfully, is this:
The more I let go of myself, the more I feel like myself.

It’s both strange to say and even stranger to live—but so far, I like it. And I recommend it.

Life is funny. As I approach the fourth decade of my life this year, I feel an unusual sense of revival. I feel more beautiful, more feminine, and more comfortable in my own skin than ever before. Bonus point, I often hear others reflect this back to me too 🥰

It’s hilarious how, looking back at my twenties, I thought 40 was old. How many of you can relate? :)

Not much has changed on the outside, yet inside, it’s a whole new queendom—and that makes all the difference. I used to dislike so many things about my appearance, my character, and, honestly, myself as a whole. But after all these years of deep Martamorphosis, I see myself differently.

I like what I see in a way I never could before. I like wearing my hair up, and I find the asymmetry of my face beautiful. I appreciate the softness of my body and its natural shape. I love my stubbornness, wit, and provocative quirk just as much as my big, loving heart, intelligence, and sense of humor.

All of it blends into a unique cocktail of personal traits that make me me—and can I just say how good it feels to be at peace with myself? Worth every bit of struggle!

Why am I sharing this? Because we often obsess over perfecting the exterior. But that approach will never work. It’s like spending your life decorating your house from the outside while neglecting the mess inside. At some point, the inner environment becomes too dirty and starts to stink. And unless you clear out that inner garbage, no one will want to come in to hang out—not even you.

Beauty is the same. It takes a beautiful inner environment to create a truly beautiful human being.

Moral of the story? The glow you seek isn’t found in mirrors—it’s found in the way you feel about yourself when no one is watching.
