The process of making this film has been an absolute whirlwind, and for our first time feature team an absolute dream come true. We are immensely grateful to the community we leaned on to make this dream a reality.
Written by Dalia Rooni, directed by Lauren Noll, “Same Same but Different” is a comedy about a wide eyed Iranian immigrant who accepts a marriage proposal from her boss’s son in order to stay in the states. What starts out as a simple green-card wedding gets complicated when her two Iranian best friends show up with their own opinions, American boyfriends, and cross-cultural-baggage in tow.
