En La Resurrección de Mictlān, Mick "El Curandero" awakens lost and disoriented, with only a series of mysterious artifacts to guide him. As he encounters each object, he is drawn into a macabre journey through blood, death, and memory. Blending ritual, symbolism, and surreal imagery, the play unfolds as a process of self-discovery that confronts identity, ancestry, and transformation. A bilingual, cross-genre theatrical experience.

Welcome to Sy and Daphne's campfire. Beneath the ancient trees of the sacred forest of Arcadia, a story begins. It is a love story, and it is also a horror story. Told as a contemporary campfire tale, they have become the forest reimagines myth through a queer lens, exploring courage, autonomy, and survival. As the line between storyteller and listener begins to blur, the audience is invited to consider what it means to live, to love, and to endure among gods.

A theater company in Havana prepares to premiere a new version of Salomé when an order arrives to shut it down. The director disappears, and in his absence, the assistant director convinces the company to move forward with the performance. As tensions rise, men and women dressed in plain clothes enter the theater carrying sticks. What begins as a rehearsal becomes a confrontation, where art, authority, and resistance collide.

Here is what this recognition looks like for IATI:

🐋 LA NIÑA Y LA BALLENA
• Actriz Infantil – Samantha León-Cruz
• Marionetas – Laura Rivero-Sefair & Valeria A. Avina
• Video y Multimedia Design – Mariana España

🦋 TODAS LAS MARIPOSAS NEGRAS MUEREN EN EL MAR
• Dirección Teatro Danza – Antígona González & sarAika movement collective (co-direction)
• Mejor Elenco Teatro Danza – Carmen Álvarez, Georgina Saldaña, Sandie Luna & Sonia Mera

Awards are never the reason we make work, but this is worth pausing to appreciate.

Valeria and Gerardo wait for the buyer of their home, convinced the sale will end their financial struggles. Everything appears to be in order, until they discover something disturbing in their carefully maintained garden. What once felt stable begins to unravel. A drama that asks: what do we do when our privileges feel threatened? Caught between fear and rejection, the play explores the tensions that emerge in the face of the unfamiliar.

After dying in the line of duty, Emmanuel Mateus finds himself caught between worlds, given nine nights to confront the past he buried. Guided by the rhythms of Afro-Colombian bullerengue, memory and music intertwine as his daughter is drawn into a journey of revelation. A haunting, music-driven exploration of migration, identity, and the cost of assimilation, asking what we lose in order to survive.

In a future where climate change has sunk the coasts and blood rains from the sky, a tour group climbs Machu Picchu, Perú despite an ongoing land dispute. Centuries earlier, on the same mountain, a third-gender oracle predicts the collapse of the Inca Empire. A speculative, surreal folk horror investigating the United States' role in the erasure of Indigenous trans history, and the ways we've survived what others call "apocalypse".
