Our project investigated how the discourse between different individuals’ sensory experiences can be shaped into a process which celebrates and affirms the diversity within unique sensory experiences. We situated this exploration within the context of a ballet class, its typical dress code, and its movement methodology, for the strict nature of balletic tradition tends to be unforgiving of unique sensory processing needs. We sought to modify different elements of ballet tights to accentuate our individual sensory and embodied relationships wearing or interacting with that item.
