“If you’re sweating, you’re doing it right”

Celebrating 10 years of @planetgroovy pushing boundaries on the dancefloor, thru the soundsystem & in our Spirits. Presented by a collaboration between Missed Connections, Lagom, Meanwhile & VIllerave - the teams who have been with GROOVY GROOVY since the beginning & continue to carry groovy’s flame into the next decade.

We will quite literally be traveling through space and time (+1 extra hour due to daylight savings), it’s a marathon, not a sprint. The spaceship launches at 10PM with a listening/sound bath (come early) ….. Touch-down at sunrise…. Stay late.

Groovy Groovy is psychedelic, sexy, silly & adventurous, come as you are… costumed or barely clothed, be dressed to sweat.

THIS FRIDAY!
…meanwhile as @elastiqueaudio powers a string of parties down in Chinatown, something fortuitously comes together.

Our first party in a year and a half, since @elastiqueaudio became a reality. @anabasine and I have had a thrill lugging this soundsystem around town for so many memorable nights, but rest assured we have something special in store for your ears for this first one of ours since. If you were at @bijoulovesyou or @newworldarder, you know we have that basement sounding & feeling real special. Come bask in it.

We are so fortunate to be teaming up with our spiritual patroness @destiny.des.choix as well the one and only Space Graft to bring you the first edition of meanwhile. We are proud to welcome a tri-city bill of heroes for the occasion:

@whodat_detroit, a bonafide legend from Motor City, bringing all the goods to replenish the soul and elevate spirits. She had us dancing harder than we ever had at the tail-end of a 30 hour marathon at Lot Mass in Detroit last May.

@___khary___ (TO) The Toronto mainstay is a true wizard, bringing through his signature blend of deeper than deep sultry house, electro and ecstatic gay rave anthems.

@frog_acolytes our hometown hero/ine will serve up their inimitable infinity grooves and signature Doo brand of shroomy housey house. IYKYK

@anabasine and @destiny.des.choix aka D&D Music Factory, your favourite pair of kindred spirits for all things music & rave will smudge the room in sound early. Can’t wait to hear what they are cooking up this time as their last b2b was a masterclass of all things jungle, freestyle, house and bass!

The legendary Space Graft will be making his return with a one-of-a-kind live lightning installation that is sure to blow us all away. Fellow Space Graft fans, rejoice. People who were there still bring uo last time Space Graft and our @danleysoundlabs rig were in the same room. Don’t sleep!

note: amidst the ongoing crisis in Gaza & Lebanon, we decided to turn over all profits from this party, which will be donated to a worthy cause for this issue (TBD, more on that soon).
