When I say everything we need already exists, I mean someone has already done purchased it brand new and donated it.
.
My philosophy going into production design and wardrobe is to not use big box business or online retail shops. I use what already exists within our community.
.
Yes that takes more time, gas, and effort, but to me, the end result is much more authentic and much less damaging to our planet.
.
From someone who has worked 15+ years in the retail industry, I know that most returns go straight to the “damage” bin. That damage bin gets shipped to a department within the company that then sends to a landfill or donation center.
.
I want to eliminate that by finding what has already been tossed aside.
.
Habitat for Humanity was able to make that happen. So grateful for this partnership and finding a company that truly supports their community.
