He was now aware that everyone had spoken to me for a potential Rolling Stone piece but him. Time was running out on all fronts.Back home, my parents were beyond flummoxed by the delays. I had been on the road with Led Zeppelin for over ten days.

Somewhere over Kansas, I took my shot and approached Jimmy Page directly.

I think it really started with just…listening.

Not for the quotes, I already had those. But to build everything around it. The pauses, the half-finished thoughts, the little utterances and quirks people don’t realize they’re giving you. That’s usually where the character is. Listen a little longer, and again. #TheUncool.
