wrote this one from the heart. as I approach thirty, I’ve been feeling more introspective than ever but also more vulnerable and fearful of “getting older.” especially in the music business. feeling like my life is suppose to look a certain way by now. so for anyone who reads this, I’ll relay something my therapist said when I brought this same idea up—- “according to who? maybe your timeline is suppose to be different.”
Loss.
spent 18 months working on ‘When a Man Falls.’ I grew up always dreaming of making an album that people can really sit with— something raw, vulnerable and relatable like many of the artists that inspired me emotionally: Kanye, Cudi, Lupe, Common, OutKast, Lauryn etc. I think I did just that.
I’m excited for the world to digest it . 🙏🏾
