🪩 DYKE 7 ~ The Club is our tribute to the Queer club where the dancefloor and the music are central to the experience.
We have invited some of our favourite DJs to come play from around the country…

✨ Ayebatonye Abrakasa is a DJ, artist, writer and creative director of Nigerian heritage born and raised on Gadigal Land, currently residing on Larrakia Country.

🫀 Ayebatonye embodies a deeply authentic musical voice and cherishes the symbiotic relationship between dancers and DJ.
The dance floor is a space centred on reciprocity.
She prioritises the art of mixing within her practice, evident to anyone who has experienced her sets. Her skilful blends, experimentation and smooth transitions between genres fosters an inviting, seductive and energetic atmosphere showcasing her adeptness behind the decks.

🙌🏽 Known worldwide for her groove centred cross-genre sets, she’s become a mainstay in the Australian music scene. Traversing time, space and genre Ayebatonye’s signature style blends together an array of global electronic sounds rich with afro rhythms, deep percussive drum beats, house, techno, jersey club and more.

An incredibly warm welcome to Ayebatonye.

Born on Gadigal Land and now based on Larrakia Country, Ayebatonye is a DJ, artist and cultural force known worldwide for her groove centred, cross genre sets. Traversing house, techno, jersey club and global electronic sounds rich with afro rhythms, her practice is rooted in the art of mixing and the symbiotic relationship between DJ and dance floor.

From festival closings to global support slots, Ayebatonye moves with intention — building energy, connection and release with every blend.

I have two things to tell you today:
1) I’m stoked to announce I’m supporting the one and only @peggygou_this coming Jan, thank you to Peggy Gou for the invitation!
2) Tanya and I were approached by a stranger while traipsing around oxford st who said “no offence but you look like you’re in the matrix” while wearing these very outfits.

I’m not going to tell you whether you should take the red or blue pill but hope to see you in late Jan for a dance xx

What an absolute treat to play the Wildlands stage at the iconic @strawberryfields_festival, big thanks to the Strawberry crew for the opportunity to play the mainstage, a Gadigal turned Larrakia local housed between some fab international artists, what an honour.

It all still feels a little surreal looking back at these. Not long before my set I was tearing up back stage/freaking out/checking BoM every five minutes after seeing that Cyclone Fina had been upgraded to a category 3 (it was the biggest cyclone since Tracy) and hearing how terrified some of our friends were back home.

I’m so glad noone was injured, sending big love to everyone who’s still dealing with the aftermath and those who’ve been displaced because of it.

So much thanks goes to my wonderful support crew who helped ground me backstage, and of course to everyone who was there for your dancing and energy, that exchange that got me back in the zone.
