Shoot Therapy -This helped me on the journey of processing and unpacking something that happened to me a long time ago. The moth placement represents how I was silenced, controlled, kept in a prison for 6 years, disguised as a house. The beautiful death head moth represents rebirth. Moth’s fly towards light, I like to believe there is always hope. Look at all our images closely there are almost always meanings or underlying stories.I’ve written a lot of poems on this topic and we have a lot of images to accompany them. I hope one day to create a little book but it’s me, ideas are abundant but some of the bigger ones get a bit overwhelming and can get lost for a while.

It will be 10 years in January since Dad left our mortal realm, he’s never seen me on trapeze.His & Mums advice was to not put things off, do everything you want now because you don’t know what’s round the corner. I’m trying to put that into practice. I’m not exactly where I want to be in Trapeze but I’ve come a long way, that’s worth celebrating. I’m always waiting until I’m better, putting things off,I’llalways want to be better so it will never happen if I don’t just do the scary things now. Doing this video was a scary thing but boy was it worth it!

This poem is for everyone living inside an invisible labyrinth of symptoms, exhaustion, pain, hypermobility, autoimmune storms, and unnamed things that never fit neatly into forms or short appointments.

For the ones told they were “too sensitive,” “just stressed,” or “probably fine.”

This is for those who have spent years adapting to things no one should simply have to “get used to.”

And for the moment, however small, when someone finally listens.

Finally Listened To
I wore silence
like a pressed black coat
buttoned to the throat.

Not because I was elegant.
Because I was trying
to keep the weather in.

Doctors touched my wrists
like checking whether rain was real.
Tilted their heads.
Translated my ache
into softer nouns.

Stress.
Sensitivity.
Maybe just tiredness
collecting dust in the joints.

Meanwhile my body
was a cathedral of small alarms.
Ligaments unraveling like wet ribbon.
Fatigue nesting in the rafters.
Pain moving furniture at night.

So I learned restraint.

Learned how to sit beautifully
while vanishing.

Learned the choreography
of being almost believed.

But today
someone opened the file
without already deciding
who I was.

Today
the room did not turn away
when I named the strange constellations
under my skin.

Bloodwork requested.
Referral written.
Tiny administrative spells
with enormous gravity.

And suddenly
I am thinking about all the years
I carried a storm
wrapped in velvet composure
while people admired
how calm I looked.

In the mirror,
baby’s breath climbs my face
like pale galaxies.

Not funeral flowers.
Field markers.

Proof
that fragile things
still grow
through dark seasons.

I close my eyes
not in defeat
but in recognition.

At last,
someone heard the animal knocking
inside the walls.

and sideways gravity.

Call for
the renegade circus mechanic
who escaped rehearsal
with pockets full of bolts,
moon screws,
and unfinished weather.

Dungarees back to front.
Hair crackling with static.
Walking sideways through the horrors
like the walls forgot
their original purpose.

Making sense
of a world
that makes no sense.

Or maybe not making sense at all.

Maybe dangling there
half feral, half constellation,
while the trapeze creaks
like an old ship deciding
whether to sink
or become a star.

And somehow still laughing.

Still climbing.

Still wearing the wrong clothes
like a tiny denim revolution

The Rope Sylph adornment - The creation Wendy @flossyanddossy made for me is somehow even more beautiful than the thing my imagination had been quietly building for months.

It’s been hanging at the end of my bed where I could see it every day, all lavender drift and waiting magic. I haven’t felt well enough these past few months to give it the movement it deserved.

Yesterday, finally, it was spun into life.
And it moved exactly like a dream learning it has a body.
