I met some characters throughout my life. I can tell you one thing: the hobos I met in Colorado were cut from a different cloth. Around 2010, I met some of the last traditional hobos—all older gentlemen in their 60s still hopping trains. I lived by a food bank, and it was next to the train yard. I would always go to the food bank because they gave out day-old stuff from Whole Foods! These guys had it figured out and were some of the most interesting people I’ve ever met. Anyway, years down the road, I’m still romanticizing about the times I hung out with this crowd. Just hanging on the tracks, sharing stories and stogies, playing rock cup. During those times, I felt the most free, and it was when I first became a full-time artist. This post goes out to the hobos! Thank you for all the years of inspiration🚂🌞🧔🏻‍♀️
