I wanted to include some hints by showing people holding up five fingers ✋ in a way that didn’t feel too obvious… so I had each shooter gesture towards the camera to transition between shots. I was really excited about this concept, because as viewers we are used to seeing highlight reels of amazing shots, but having the talent break the 4th wall (get it???) in their most epic moments felt like a really exciting way to elevate this piece! So I made a deck explaining the concept and communicated individually to creators as they went on their shoots, resulting in this worldwide collaboration of incredible creators! Huge shoutout to everyone at Insta360 for supporting and trusting me so much 🥲💛⁣⁣⁣

@insta360 sent some of their incredible creators on trips around the world to capture the most amazing content with the new X4. (➡️Swipe for creator credits!) I did a bunch of test shoots to come up with effects, and sent specific capture instructions for those shots complete with step by step instructions and photos. Over about 3 weeks, the footage from all of these trips poured in (about 5TB, all of which had to be uploaded / downloaded 😅) and I tried a million different combinations and effects before landing on this edit! I concepted the intro shot as a way to show pixels growing / morphing from 5.7k to 8k resolution— this ended up being extremely difficult to achieve, so shoutout to @filmwithryan for making it happen and @rikognition for R&Ding the effect logistics!⁣⁣⁣

All of the footage I had to work with was INCREDIBLE and I wish this video could have been 10 minutes long for me to include everything lol— definitely going to make some more edits with the footage that didn’t make this cut!! Maybe some edit livestreams in the near future?⁣⁣ 🤔 ⁣

We created the broadcast intro for @missuniverse !

We were recently given the enormous opportunity to direct, shoot, and edit the cold open for this year’s Miss Universe competition in El Salvador! It was a packed but incredible 2 weeks of production from concept to final broadcast (to millions worldwide!), with 4 days on site shooting in many beautiful locations throughout El Salvador.

It was a true pleasure to work alongside the entire Miss Universe production team & organization, El Salvador representatives, and of course the 84 fantastic delegates from all over the world. A big thank you to @petrocutie & @nickinnashville for entrusting our team with opening the show, and the many others that helped us with production throughout the project!
