Something new is coming to Yonic

Moving Room is finally free to watch, for anyone, anywhere.

This film began as a letter to my younger self. To the kid who left Sikkim at 15 and spent years learning to take up less space, to code-switch, to disappear a little in order to survive. Making it was an act of compassion toward that person. Watching it travel across the US, winning awards along the way, and finally coming home to Sikkim has been more than I ever imagined it could be.

If you’ve ever felt caught between worlds, like you don’t quite belong anywhere, this film is for you. You are not alone in that feeling. I promise.

To everyone who made it with me, who showed up for it, who saw themselves in it: I carry you with me.

In the woods of Vermont in the middle of the winter, a man living—almost—off the grid is approached by a photographer. Dylan (Quinn Fay) lives in a cabin connected to outside society only through his computer. Jay (Jimmy Jackson) exhibits his work at a local museum run by the town eccentric (Matt Farley).

Directed by Zeke Fairley.
Filmed between Brownsville, VT and Worcester, MA from December 2024 - February 2025.

Moving Room is awarded Best Worcester Short Film at the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival!

Moving Room will screen on Opening Night of the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival in Southbridge, MA on Thursday April 24th at 7PM.

It was nominated for Best Short Film, and Best Worcester County Short Film!

Moving Room goes to Chicago for its Illinois Premiere! Screening at CineYouth 2025 on Saturday April 26th at 9PM in the Genre Breakers: Experimental program!

Moving Room goes to Seattle for its Washington State Premiere at NFFTY! It will be screening on April 4th at 12:30PM under the Breaking the Mold block.

I’m super excited to attend the festival in person and meet some other incredibly passionate young filmmakers!

Come see Zeke's Clark Fest presentation on October 30th!

Hosted in the Video Production Studio - room 007 - of Clark's Center for Media Arts, Computing, and Design

Learn about how Zeke convinced Matt Farley (of Poop, Place and Name song fame!) to play a role in the film!

Walk through the set of Zeke's thesis film! Inhabit the mind of the titular Cabin Boy - a young angry man isolated from the outside world. Witness for yourself what goes on in the mind of someone so angry and alone.

Tours of the Cabin will be open from 1:00 - 3:30 pm but make sure you join for Zeke's presentation at 2:30!

Hear Zeke mention the original film Cabin Boy (1994) a million times and Sorcerer (1977) a hundred times more!

Listen to the dulcet tones of the Cabin Boy playlist...make friends...enjoy life to the fullest. You can only do that in CMACD 007 at 2:30pm on Wednesday, October 30th.

After our festival run, picking up the Best Student Short Film award at the Dreamachine Film Festival and being selected for the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival, Long Play is now available to stream on YouTube!
