Cork Alt Pride puts liberatory Marxist politics at the centre of queer discourse, reigniting Pride as a protest, not a parade. We believe legal wins that attain concessions from the capitalist state like gay marriage are tools on our way to organise socialist revolution and queer liberation. They are not the end goal in themselves. We fundraise not just for ourselves but for queer orgs in Ireland and internationally. At last years alt pride, €500 was raised. 40% of that went back to Cork Alt Pride, and the remaining 60% was split between:

🧡 Trans Harm Reduction (Scotland/Ireland)
Provide trans-led, life-saving work such as testing DIY HRT for quality, provide healthcare funds, peer support, and connect the trans community with sympathetic GPs (while the National Gender Service has a 10+ year closed waiting list).

🧡 alQaws (Palestine)
Queer Palestinian civil society org disrupting patriarchal, capitalist, and colonial oppression. They've faced repression from the Palestine Authority who have banned their events, arrested them, and conducted military-style interrogations mirroring the IDF. Their work includes counselling, running community hubs in Ramallah, Haifa, East Jerusalem, Jaffa, and mutual aid. Internationalism must not replicate capitalist hegemony nor support imperialist expansion as we currently see in West Asia. By supporting alQaws, Cork Alt Pride helps cut through pink washing at home, especially during genocide and imperialist expansion. Cuirimid ár ngrá agus ár ndlúthpháirtíocht gan teorainn.

Keep an eye out for our next public meeting!

We're excited to be organising a self med 101 workshop on May 10th. 🙌

A large proportion of trans people in Ireland choose or are forced to self medicate with THR linked to the abysmal state of trans healthcare. We are campaigning as hard as we can to change this situation, but in the meantime we want to empower people who want to self medicate to do so as safely and responsibly as possible. We'll be covering issues such as:
🧪 HRT testing and safe sourcing advice
💉Accessing injecting supplies & injecting safely
🩸 Blood tests
💬 Where to find support

The workshop is on Sunday 10th at 2pm. DM for address!

On this dreary winter day, we present you with brand new test results from Snow Labs.

This is a supplier which is becoming more prevalent in UK circles, so we tested a vial of their Estradiol Enanthate, compounded at an advertised 50mg/ml.

Quantitative analysis returned an actual concentration of 48.74mg/ml, which is within expected margins. GCMS screening detected no contaminants, with only E2 and oil components detected at significant peaks.

Sample composition:
50mg/ml (48.74 actual) EEn in grapeseed oil
20% benzyl benzoate
1.9% benzyl alcohol

Full results will be published on our website soon. Email for raw data until then.

We are an entirely volunteer-led organisation. If you have the means to donate, it will go a long way towards funding out next tests and our other work. Donation link can be found in our bio or at transharmreduction.org

The HSE is working to develop a new model of trans healthcare. We all know the National Gender Service must go, but what comes next?

We have no faith that the Department of Health and HSE, who have abandoned the trans
community for so many years, have our best interests at heart. Even worse, senior NGS
officials are involved in developing the ‘new’ model of care. Those responsible for the problems we're facing will not be the ones to fix them!

As the trans community and allies, we must take action to ensure our voices are heard. We have the following demands:

1) That the new model of care should be based on the principle of informed consent and accessed in primary care settings (i.e. through your GP).
2) That no NGS clinicians are involved in the process of developing the new model.
3) And end to the connection between the provision of trans healthcare and religious
institutions
4) That the Department of Health and HSE issue interim guidance to GPs about how they can provide necessary healthcare (such as HRT prescriptions and blood tests) while the new model is being developed.

To support our campaign and make sure our voices can’t be ignored, sign our open letter to the Minister of Health and HSE management through the link in our bio

We particularly welcome endorsements from LGBT+ and other community/political organizations.

Once we have sufficient support we will be delivering the letter direct to the Minister and HSE so they have no choice but to listen to our demands!

Link is in our bio.

2025 for Trans Harm Reduction was a year like many previous. We are focused on sustainable development of community healthcare practices, and so we deliberately work slow and steady. We don't keep close records, or record any personal information for people we support, and these numbers are approximate. Numbers don't tell the story of the impact we have on the people we support.

New test results. And this is an interesting one...

We collaborated with @transfembelgium to test a sample of estradiol enanthate from Zelda following reports of visible contamination (fibres) in a batch of their vials.

The GCMS results did not show any form of contamination and the concentration was just a bit below what was advertised.

However this does not mean that vials like this are safe to use for various reasons including 1) it's unclear what the immune response might be if particles/fibres like this were injected, and 2) while it's likely the vial would have been sterilized with an autoclave, it's possible that whatever the contaminants are could act as a substrate for bacteria once the seal was broken and the vial was used.

We'll have full results up on our website soon!

We Can't Keep Waiting takes place this Saturday, 22nd November at the Pyramid at Anderston in Glasgow!

Healthcare Campaigns with @scottish_trans - A workshop looking at how we can start campaigns across Scotland in health boards that refer to Sandyford but don’t currently provide and gender identity healthcare. This workshop is open to people who live in Ayshire and Arran, Dumfries and Galloway, Forth Valley, Argyll and Bute, Lanarkshire, Tayside and Western Isles.

We've been working hard to expand our injection supplies programme by collaborating with @tcdsu.amlct and @ucdsu .

Students in these universities can now pick up free safe injecting supplies from their students' union.

If you're a student union or LGBT+/trans community organisation and would like to collaborate with us on this programme, please get it in touch.

As always people can request supplies to be posted out via the link in our bio 🙌

Swipe to find some useful links and resources regarding safe use and disposal of injecting supplies.

Join us for a public meeting on Saturday 11th October to discuss the next steps in the movement for trans healthcare in Ireland.

There'll be speakers from @transpridedublin and @transharmreduction amongst others giving their analysis of the healthcare situation and of what is needed to bring about change.

We also want input from our community regarding how we can develop and strengthen our campaign and what actions we can take to win the healthcare that we need.

Register to attend using the link in our bio.
