Fun fact, wrote this chord progression on piano before turning it into guitar for the writing session that turned into “can’t love you anymore”. My fav place to start creating 🎹

I’ve always believed A&R is one of the most important skills for great producers. They go hand in hand for me. I take pride in never forgetting songs I love, no matter when they were made. When Alex and I started working together and building his solo project world, I was constantly brainstorming records that could be a great fit for him (in addition to all the exciting new stuff we were writing).

Can’t Love You Anymore was always a special one, written with some of my fav people @teddyswims @natecyph @rileybiederer . I loved the emotion and urgency of this record, and knew Alex’s classic vocal + performance would feel so authentic and powerful. He made it his own in the best way. We made some song key adjustments to make sure the hook landed in a desperate, gritty place in Alex’s voice, updated production to fit the direction of the album, and boom- Can’t Love You Anymore is yours!
