Sydney Film Festival (@sydfilmfest) starts in less than 2 weeks!
A debut documentary we are pumped to see, is THEYDREAM (@theydreamfilm), directed by William D. Caballero (@williamdcaballero) and he will be at the festival! Winner of the NEXT Special Jury Award at Sundance (@sundanceorg) this year, THEYDREAM is a visionary and tender documentary that follows a queer filmmaker and his loving mother as they work together to heal their family history through the magic of art and animation.

One of the highlights this year is the retrospective strand, Barbara Hammer: Radical Visibility. Curated by former Queer Screen Festival Director Lisa Rose, this program celebrates the pioneering lesbian and feminist icon who famously declared, “Touching another woman's body changed my life. It had to be shown.”
The retrospective offers a rare chance to explore 19 of Hammer's works, including the groundbreaking features NITRATE KISSES and HISTORY LESSONS, alongside two curated short film packages.

Sydney Film Festival (@sydfilmfest) announced their program yesterday and it’s beyond epic!
Amazing to see so many debut features in the lineup, including the exceptional BARBARA FOREVER (@barbaraforeverfilm), which picked up the Jonathan Oppenheim Editing Award at Sundance (@sundanceorg) and the coveted Teddy Award for Best Documentary at this year’s Berlinale (@berlinale).
Directed by Brydie O’Connor (@brydieoconnor), the documentary celebrates the iconic and pioneering lesbian avant-garde filmmaker Barbara Hammer.
And after seeing the documentary, it’s the perfect chance to dive deeper into Hammer’s extraordinary body of work, with a retrospective program of 19 films, curated by the brilliant Lisa Rose (@onelisarose), titled Barbara Hammer: Radical Visibility.
