Both Energy & Calm Bitters were years in the making.
I’m so so proud of the formulas and the way we have brought joyful and delicious herbal medicine in to your daily life. Thank you!!! ♥️♥️♥️🤞🏻
Autumn is here, and with it, the energy shift around us. The days become shorter, mornings are cooler and our body wants to contract, conserve energy and prepare for winter.
Forest tonic is particularly helpful this time of year, by nourishing both the immune system and the nervous system, supporting front line defences and resilience.
One of my favourite herbs and a hero ingredient of Forest is Schisandra berry.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine Schisandra has been cultivated and used for over 4000 years and is said to support your “3 treasures”: your deep energy reserves, you active energy and your higher spirit.
And doesn’t it just- omg you guys- 20mls in a mug of hot water is the most energising and uplifting tea- like a hug on the inside… I love it in the morning or as a nightcap.
As always our tonics are functional and delicious- no sugar, flavours, or shortcuts- just real plant medicine 💜
Happy Birthday Genna Pyewacket!
You are one of the most incredible people I have ever met and you just keep getting cooler. 8 years in business together and I’m constantly in awe of your intelligence, joyfulness and passion for life.
I love and respect you so, so much. Feeling extra grateful today that we get to create and grow Pyewackets Traditional together!

First pick of the year on a glorious sunny Saturday afternoon ☀️
The little scavenger in me gets SO much satisfaction saving surplus fruit and turning it in to the goods…
When you see the absolute bounty these little trees produce- it’s so bloody incredible and inspiring- 🥹 I’m overwhelmed with gratitude… go you good things! We promise not to waste a drop!
Organic limes for shrubs and Verdita tonic- straight off the tree and in to the bottle - my favourite part of this job. 💚
(Wallabies are cute and curious visitors 🦘)
We are coming in to citrus season and my favourite time to be out on the land, harvesting abundance and saving it for later.
Citrus goes into oh so many things that we make.
Whole lemons and oranges in our Fire Cider. Whole oranges in our Forest Cider.
Whole limes in our Verdita tonic.
Rosemary Lemonade shrub. Blood Orange and Turmeric shrub. Grapefruit and Galaxy Hops shrub. Mandarin and Pine needles shrub. Mango Lime and Jalapeño shrub. Lime Coriander leaf shrub.
Mandarin peel in our Energy Bitters. Orange zest in our Aromatic Bitters.
We do all this with the fresh local abundance of the Northern Rivers- lots of it I pick myself.
Grateful to all the farmers, and non-commercial growers who contribute their surplus… grateful to the land that always has more than enough to share. 🍋🍊🍋🟩♥️

Sore throat first aid ⛑️ -A friend texted me this morning: she’s woken up with a sore throat and hoarse voice and has to sing later today.
1- total vocal rest, whispering only 🤫
2- Fire Cider tea hourly up to the gig 🌶️🫖. A tablespoon in warm water sipped.
Did you know Billie Holiday used to drink hot water with a couple dashes of tabasco sauce before a gig? A bar will usually have Tabasco for their Bloody Marys…
Cayenne pepper can help relieve a sore throat with the compound, capsaicin, which reduces inflammation and blocks pain signals.
Fire Cider also has raw honey, ginger, garlic, turmeric, lemon and raw onion all known to fight infections and sooth inflammation - both locally and systemically.
Did you know that you can now get fire cider on a subscription? Choose your interval, and make sure you never run out 🌶️🫖
We can’t help ourselves when it comes to these cuties- I absolutely LOVE mine and want everyone to have the joy of this precious little cup in your daily rituals. No more plastic measures - we only want handmade, ceramic and adorable from now on, ploise. 💁🏻♀️ Just in time for Mother’s Day and on the website,
Your friendly neighbourhood naturopath here- telling you to consume more chocolate!
Here’s the facts:
🍫Cacao is one of the highest dietary sources of a chemical called Phenylethylamine or P.E.A , aka the “love chemical” that associated with feelings of bliss, focus, and falling in love.
It stimulates the nervous system to release endorphins, dopamine, and norepinephrine.
🍫To keep the good times rolling, we also have tryptophan, that helps balance mood by supporting serotonin production.
🍫Cacao contains theobromine — a gentle, energy producing compound that supports circulation and oxygen flow to the brain and muscles, helping you feel alert without the jitters or crash.
🍫Plant chemicals called flavanols have been found to improve function and production of our mitochondria- the organelles responsible for energy production in every one of our cells.
There is HEAPS of research showing that even just a small amount of dark chocolate per day can have a dramatic impact on your health, emotional wellbeing and energy.
And this is why we have made it the foundation of our Energy Bitters-along with adaptogen herbs like Ashwaganda, Codonopsis, Siberian ginseng and mandarin peel (Chen pi in TCM) and the homeopathic kali phos.
A gentle nourishing and warming buzz - with a flavour like a Mexican hot chocolate or an Italian chinotto soda.
Moorish and delicious- and a real treat any time of the day, direct from the bottle, as a short shot- or made in to soda.
🍫🍫🍫🍫
Turns out it’s easy being green: Verdita Tonic on this sunny Saturday afternoon 💚💚💚 Fresh organic coriander leaf, limes, pineapples, moringa, chlorophyll in wild fermented raw ACV… what an absolute buzz. I’m in love 💚

Who’s getting their Victory Garden autumn planting in?!
During WW2 the British were growing 1.4-3 million tonnes of fresh food every year, in garden allotments and urban green spaces. I’ve always loved that history as an example of how we can truly take control of our food security by working with whatever we have around us. Even roof tops or planter boxes can be valuable garden growing real estate .
Hope you’re getting your hands in the dirt this weekend! Connection with the season, the earth, and our own creativity is wonderful medicine ✌🏻🥕🥬🍅🥔🍋🍉🫑🥦
