4/21: Park Chan-wook’s THE HANDMAIDEN bc I promised to show it first thing back after those no good awful back to back snowstorms ruined the movies

4/28: David Lynch’s THE STRAIGHT STORY which I haven’t seen in a few years but frequently refer to as a favorite in his filmography and it’s one people often miss so come see what you’re missing

5/12: Charles Burnett’s TO SLEEP WITH ANGER featuring one of the best Danny Glover performances, one of the best of the 90s

the One Minute Film Festival at @lostbagspace is BACK on July 31st 🎥✨

If you made a short last year, intended to make a short, or have never made anything in your entire life we encourage you to submit! You can make ANYTHING you want in any medium and show it off in front of a supportive crowd 📽️

Submission guidelines are not much different from last year, but are as follows
- Shorts can be anywhere between 2 mins and 2 seconds! if it goes over, we’re gonna ask you to cut it down. If it goes under I’ll prob shake my damn head at your rascal behavior and ultimately play it at .5 speed
- We would prefer if your film was made for the festival within the next two months! Obv there’s no way to be sure other than an honor system but making something in this amount of time is what i think makes it so special
- We would also prefer that if you submit you can be there in person! Had some lovely out of town submissions last year but trying to keep it local :)
- Submissions are DUE by July 24th at 11:59PM 🎞️ the deadline will not be extended
- all submissions can be sent to sgberes@gmail.com

B*tch Eat Dog is a puppet-filled sketch show interrogating the gendered ethics of pursuit. A tradwife named Felicity Groundwater hawks her questionable raw milk wares and ultimately breastfeeds a member of the audience with one of her nine pendulous burlap boobs. A new kind of IUD insertion escalates until rats are being shoved down a cervix.The evening is hosted by a hapless, well-intentioned white man who flails wildly as his misguided attempts at allyship lead to a painful realization.

Lupo Città is a trio featuring Chris Brokaw (guitar, vocals)—a longtime Cambridge-based musician known for his work with Codeine, Come, Martha’s Vineyard Ferries—alongside Boston-based members Sarah Black (guitar, bass) and Jenn Gori (vocals, drums), both formerly of Minneapolis garage rock bands.

$500 are an indie rock trio from upstate NY. Composed of guitarist Ian Donohue, bassist/vocalist Kaitlyn Flanagan, and drummer Lilly Griffin, the trio released their debut record, Twelve Eyes, back in the Fall of 2025. They’ve got a cool feature up on @uglyhug_ today, check it out!

Exploding Zones is an experimental space rock trio from Providence, Rhode Island. Featuring Mike Duffy (guitar/vocals), Christopher Kelley (bass), and Eric Smith (drums), the band fuses heavy, psychedelic atmospheres with the raw power of fuzzed-out 90s alt-rock.
