“I don’t think soccer ever has been just a game for me,” says Lacey Baker of the role soccer has played in her life.

Meet Lacey Baker, a proud member of the Squamish Nation, who was inspired by the Indigenous women mentors who organized soccer in her community when she was young. Lacey carried those teachings through international competition and now works to pass them on to the next generation.

Nestled in the northern Great Bear Rainforest, Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary provides a glimpse into bears’ natural habitat. 🐻

Each spring, 50–60 grizzlies return to roam freely within its 110,000+ acres of protected land across estuaries, shoreline and old-growth forest. From the water, visitors can quietly observe as they feed, rest, and move through the inlet.

Located within the traditional territory of the Ts’msyen Nation, specifically the Gits’iis Tribe, and monitored by First Nations Rangers, @khutzlodge supports respectful wildlife viewing, honouring the local culture, and finding ways to give back to conservation.
