celebrating 20 years of @beyoncรฉโs coronation - โcrazy in loveโ ๐๐
i was ten years old. i remember coming home from school in 2003 & randomly turning on MTV right as her episode of โmaking the videoโ was starting. at the time, i wasnโt as tapped in to pop culture as i would later become. i hadnโt heard the song nor did i know there was a solo album on the way. ๐คฏ talk about a reintroduction.
i feel like this was my first real-time experience seeing the relationship between an artist and their undeniable worldwide hit record. and itโs been incredible to witness her evolution as a performer via this song. seeing her perform it over & over again for the past 2 decades has taught me so much. believe me when i say, iโve seen probably every performance of this song thatโs available on this - her daughterโs internet. every arrangement & reimagination.
as an artist, whenever i think about an introduction to a new era, a high-energy performance with the works (vocals, choreography, band - everything firing on all cylinders), or just a bonafide smash - โcrazy in loveโ will always be one of the first records that come to my mind - in addition to it being one of my favorite offerings from my favorite artist.
i spent the last day of my 20s reminiscing as much as i could. after going down memory lane, i figured why not make somewhat of a highlight reel based on whatever i could find. this ainโt all of it, but i look back on this stuff very fondly. and iโm very grateful for all of the beautiful souls iโve encountered along the way while i was out here chasing my bliss.
