Meet Saina Bidshahri (@bysaina) a visual storyteller based in Dubai. Whether through photography or film, her work draws from identity, memory and culture and is grounded in learning from people whose lives differ from her own. Here, Saina also documents the Assembly’s off-site workshop exploring the streets and landmarks of Satwa, as viewed through @faizalr31’s personal experiences and family histories in the neighbourhood.
The Assembly is a yearly talent development programme that supports young artistic leadership in the UAE. This year’s cohort explores new ways of thinking about curatorial practices through mapping strategies.

Saina Bidshahri (@bysaina) is a Dubai-based Iranian photographer exploring culture, storytelling, and visual anthropology. Drawn to themes of identity and the ways memory shapes who we are, she finds her deepest purpose in documentary work. Capturing human stories and the spiritual strength people carry. Her photographs preserve moments that invite viewers to pause and see themselves in new ways.
