City Splash x Arsenal
From North London to Brixton, City Splash became Arsenal’s pre-parade celebration.City Splash exists as The Home of Culture. Arsenal belongs right here.
Men, women and children arrived in Arsenal shirts from every decade. Groups of friends were chanting before dancing to their favourite artist. Generational pride for both their club and their heritage. This is cultural infrastructure.
As a life-long Arsenal supporter this was a dream come true.

I have just left the Royal Courts Of Justice.
For the last two years a small but well resourced group of local residents, Protect Brockwell Park, have been on a sustained attack against City Splash and the right for us to bring together our community to celebrate Black music and culture in Brockwell Park. This is the third High Court Case that has attempted to stop the event from happening. We won the case today and once again Protect Brockwell Park has been unsuccessful in stopping us. These court cases are costing us and the local council hundreds of thousands of pounds in legal costs. This is a huge waste of money and could be spent much more effectively on real social issues in the community. We now hope that Protect Brockwell Park will review their position and recognise that Black music events like City Splash are here to stay. See you on the 25th May!

Creating City Splash was always about making sure we have a safe space here in Babylon to uphold our culture and come together as a community.
In the lead-up to City Splash, I’m proud to announce our City Splash Week line-up: a series of events, workshops and more. All intentionally curated and produced by partners across our community.
Powered by @ourppls, we’re also offering four emerging event producers the chance to receive £500 to bring their event idea to life during City Splash Week.
Want to be part of City Splash Week? If you’re hosting - or thinking of hosting - an event, sign up via the link in @citysplashfest bio to be featured.
Here, you can also check out the full programme.

I’m looking forward to sharing some insights on how to get into the live events industry and what it’s really like running a music festival… 🙏🏽

February is Reggae Month and each year many of us who dedicate our time to the music and culture spend the month in Jamaica (mainly Kingston) attending conferences, festivals, showcases, nightclubs, street parties, fashion shows, award shows, cafes, studios and more.
As someone who invests heavily into the Jamaican music economy it’s a great time to discover exciting new artists, connect with legends, build partnerships with like minded people, create music, make movies, do good business and get inspired.
This was one of my favourite reggae months over the last 10 years and I am very grateful for all the friends and associates I got to spend time with.
Reggae and dancehall is in amazing period of growth and I have just seen a great group of artists coming up in Kingston. I’m excited to see the wider music and entertainment business rise up to support the new wave.
