SEC evolves.

Designed by Alfredo Häberli , SEC is the modular system that combines structural clarity with design freedom — from a bedside table to a full-height storage wall, with coherence and lightness.

Now enriched with new finishes: four textured powder-coated colours, six gloss options, painted methacrylate for panels and sliding doors, and two new veneers in oak and walnut.
With the introduction of the new 560 mm depth, compositional possibilities expand even further.

Versatile. Transversal. Constantly evolving.

With “ Ordini Diversi.” Norberto Pezzotta reinterprets Lanuda chair designed by Riccardo Blumer.

No longer a simple seat, but a poetic presence suspended between rational rigour and the natural landscape. A bridge between human ingenuity and the silent wisdom of
nature.

In the clearing, Lanuda multiplies like a silent herd in the tall grass.
In the woods, among roots and filtered light, it settles lightly.
On the riverbed, it traces a discreet order among the stones.

Part of Interpreting Something Else, the project continues Alias’ exploration of an original visual language, capable of rewriting the essence of its collections through
contemporary perspectives.

Designed in 2001, Legnoletto was born from the meeting of design rigour and artisanal sensitivity. The die-cast aluminium legs, a distinctive element of the collection, support the solid wood structure, creating a measured balance between sturdiness and formal lightness.

Twenty-five years after its debut, Legnoletto is enriched with new finishes and colours, further expanding the system’s expressive possibilities. With these new variants, the collection confirms its ability to interpret the bedroom with coherence and personality, while remaining faithful to the values of research, quality, and durability that have always distinguished Alias.

Twenty-five years after its debut in the Alias catalogue, Legnoletto designed by @alfredo.haeberli stands out as a project able to cross time with natural ease, keeping the strength of its original vision intact.

Born from the intuition of a young designer who chose to engage with a product type that was, at the time, unexpected for the company, Legnoletto combines formal lightness and constructive rigour in a balance that looks to architecture rather than furniture. In this interview, the designer retraces the genesis of the project, the dialogue with Alias and the reasons for a relevance that, years later, continues to speak to contemporary living.

A visual dialogue celebrating the relaunched SEC modular system – originally designed in 1997 by Alfredo Häberli – now reinterpreted throughout the urban memory of Bergamo, the city where Alias was born.

Through the photographic project ‘SEC-CITY. Bergamo Dialogues’, SEC becomes spatial language and temporary architecture: evolving between Piazza della Libertà and the urban fabric of the Centro Piacentiniano, balancing rational rigour and material warmth.

Captured by photographer Luca A. Caizzi, the campaign intertwines design, place, and identity — renewing the poetic vision of its origins through a contemporary lens.

For Alias, design is never just form — it is connection, exploration, and shared belonging. Something Else, once again.

“We are in a very old building and we are still moved by the colours, proportions and materials. It is proof that everything in design is cyclical: things that have a soul come back, back and forth through time. That is why many people today look to archive pieces. In a world dominated by technology, we seek warmth, comfort and that sense of welcome that so many designs of the past offered. For my part, I think observing is the best way to think: I observe young people and how they use things, I observe myself and my surroundings, drawing inspiration from everyday life. Ultimately, it is everyday use that gives objects value: what survives time is what continues to be chosen, touched and experienced.” Alfredo Häberli

The link between Mario Botta, Alias and Frauchiger Design began in the 1980s, when the Ticino architect designed his first furniture for the Italian brand. At the same time, Ueli Frauchiger — fascinated by Ticino architecture — began the collaboration that would lead to the construction of the headquarters in Zofingen (Switzerland), inaugurated in 1993. Today this dialogue is being renewed through new forms and new stories to tell. At the heart of the “Tutto Botta” exhibition are the two new Alias collections, Zeta and Saturno, which confirm the deep connection between architecture and design that has always inspired the work of Ticino architect Mario Botta.

In the dialogue between architecture, landscape, and design, matter becomes narrative.

Within the MUSEO INFINITO - PARK | Botta exhibition @continiartgallery the Seconda chairs, Zeta stool andSaturno 48 low table designed by @mariobottaarchitetti_official were integrated into the installation as quiet yet essential presences—objects capable of inhabiting space, following its geometries, and amplifying its meaning.

With the exhibition coming to a close in 2025, what remains is the experience of an encounter between design and architectural vision, where form, function, and context intertwined into a single narrative.
