Fictionals is a DC-based Vietnamese multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter, grassroots organizer, and advocate for community self-determination. Her music blends bedroom pop, soul, and indie R&B while weaving cultural narratives. Fictionals released her debut EP, Ancestor, in 2025, commemorating 50 years since the end of the war in Viet Nam. She will perform songs from the EP and nostalgic cultural covers at Sari-Sari.

It’s time for our Spring Makers’ Market in collaboration with @samasamaart! 🌸
SAMASAMA was founded in Washington, DC, in 2016 in celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month and has evolved to organize year-round programs, events, and partnerships to celebrate diasporic narratives. As part of the collaboration with NMWA, SAMASAMA has curated a selection of artists, bringing their unique perspective on heritage, identity, and storytelling.
Join us on Sunday, May 3, from 10 am to 4 pm in the museum’s Great Hall to shop handmade jewelry, art, ceramics, and vintage finds from women and gender-expansive vendors. Tunes will also be provided by Les The DJ @LesTalusan. Admission to the museum and the market is free all day as part of Community Day! 🎨
There will also be an art-making activity in our education studio on the 4th floor and drop-in exhibition tours at 11 am and 2 pm. You can reserve your tickets in advance at the link in our bio or at nmwa.org/calendar. 🖼️
