Artist Kakyoung Lee @kakyounglee will be in Philly presenting today her latest collaboration with @dos_tres_press as part of @brandywine.workshop Print Lab initiative.

April marks Second Chance Month, a time to recognize the importance of reentry and creating meaningful pathways forward.

“Uplift Justice” by Shepard Fairey (@obeygiant) reflects on the ideals of justice and our collective responsibility to build a more inclusive future.

Mural Arts advances this work through our Restorative Justice program, supporting returning citizens and justice-impacted individuals through art, workforce development, and community connection.

This Second Chance Month, we’re reminded that art can open doors to healing, connection, and new beginnings because everyone deserves the opportunity to move forward!

This Wednesday, December 10, at 3 PM, we’re hosting a public screening and Q&A of the documentary film “We Here” at @visitpham! Documentary filmmaker @gustavo.garcia3 of @colibriworks, artist @robertolugowithoutwax, and Community Advisory Council members Brenda Mosley and John Walsh will be in discussion following the screening.

In collaboration with renowned artist and Kensington native @robertolugowithoutwax and a dedicated Community Advisory Council, We Here was a community-engaged art project that illuminated the vibrant Kensington neighborhood. Inspired by Lugo’s journey as a professional artist who grew up in Kensington, the project focused on youth engagement through pottery and immersive artistic experiences, including workshops and public programs.

Lee explores a world where everyday movement becomes a profound act of expression. Through her prints, drawings, animations, and video projections, she elevates overlooked identities and celebrates the subtle power of daily life. Inspired by her experience as a first-generation Korean immigrant in the United States, Lee’s work reflects personal journeys of self-realization, empowerment, and transformation. From walking through a city to gazing out a train window, she turns simple gestures into meaningful narratives, revealing the beauty hidden within routine moments.
