I am the luckiest to have the most amazing family and friends, near and far who support me in the great times and more importantly, the not so great ones. I rang the bell yesterday for the second time after a second breast cancer diagnosis (11 years apart) and was surprised and delighted to share it with just a few of the many amazing people in my life who show up time and time and time again no matter the circumstances and bring JOY. These last six months have been a roller coaster but I have felt so loved, supported and cared for by so many. Here is the message: please do not put off health screenings, even for a few months. The timing and the outcomes matter. In our crazy industry we get so busy putting the demands of building and running our businesses, pleasing our clients, juggling families, traveling the world and so much more. We reschedule routine tests and appointments, we justify potential symptoms away, we tell ourselves we will get to it all in the ‘slower season,’ but don’t. I have mammograms and ultrasounds every six months and this recent diagnosis surprised everyone. Thankfully, due to early detection and an amazing medical team at Orlando Health Cancer Institute I got to ring that bell (again!). Many others are not so lucky and my heart goes out to them. Life is precious and without our health not much else matters. With deep gratitude and the plans to continue to “Add Good Things” each and every day! 💕
