TRANS RIGHTS ARE WORKERS’ RIGHTS! 🏳️‍⚧️✊

Our co-convener Ailsa gave a moving speech last weekend at the STUC LGBT+ Workers’ Conference, speaking on Pride, its history, how it must remain a protest, as well as the solidarity between trade unions and LGBTQIA+ people.

We're THRILLED to announce that not only have we been shortlisted as a finalist for The Pride Award at @proudscotlandawards 2026, but that our co-convener Ailsa has also been shortlisted as a finalist for Volunteer of the Year!

We'd also like to congratulate all the other nominees, and to thank you all! Trans Pride is nothing without the people attending it, and it's not just our work, but all of you turning up that makes it such a wonderful event. Let's hope this is our year! 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

Trans Pride Scotland welcomes the passing of the motion at STUC Congress calling for action on conversion therapy. This is an important and long-overdue step in recognising the harm caused by these abusive practices and in affirming the dignity, autonomy, and humanity of LGBTQ+ people across Scotland.

Whilst we had a lovely time at the STUC Congress, we found ourselves deeply disappointed both @scottishlabour and @thesnp failed to visit the Trans Pride Scotland stall at the event. But on a positive, we’d like to extend our thanks to Gillian Mackay and Ross Greer from @scottishgreens for showing up and showing solidarity.

On the 7th of May, make sure you demand better from your government.

We are supporting the @cabaretagainst counter protest against "Women Won't Wheesht" and their campaign against the trans community on April 11th.

One year has passed since the Supreme Court ruling and anti trans groups like WWW continue their tirade against trans rights even though the Supreme Court ruling clearly stated,

"we counsel against reading this judgment as a triumph of one or more groups in our society at the expense of another, it is not." - Lord Hodge 2025

Trans rights are human rights and excluding trans people from public spaces, healthcare or sports does not make cis women safer it only hurts all women.

Join us on Sat 11th April and help us show that trans people are welcome here in Scotland.

Although TPS 2026 wasn’t on Trans Day of Visibility (we get it as reasonably close as we can!), we were SO visible over the weekend. We are everywhere. We are incredible human beings. We are your friends, your relatives, your coworkers, your lovers. We deserve respect and rights like everyone else. We are unbreakable, and no matter how dark things might be right now, we will always win. Happy Trans Day of Visibility! 💙🩷🤍
