BREAKING NEWS! The World Premiere of XTRAVAGANZA musical announced! Previews start May 7, 2027, with Opening Night set for May 22 at Baltimore Center Stage. Tickets go on sale this June 24, 2026. Save the date and BE THERE!

XTRAVAGANZA is a new musical inspired by @jose.xtravaganza and the legendary House of Xtravaganza and its house members… artists whose style, language and movement helped shape one of the most iconic moments in pop culture history.

**** This is not just the story behind a movement. It is the story of the people who built it, lived it and refused to be erased. ****

The book is by R. Eric Thomas original score by Khiyon Hursey, created in collaboration with a powerhouse team of songwriters and producers,Bill Sherman is music supervisor, leading a music team including Matthew Campfield and Daniel Klein of Some Randoms. Baltimore Center Stage’s Artistic Director Stevie Walker-Webb is directing and choreography is by Kyle Abraham. More creative team to be announced very soon!

What an incredible run of trinity by Lena Waithe at Baltimore Center Stage. ✨

Huge congratulations to our brilliant cast and crew who brought this powerful story to life night after night. We were honored to welcome so many amazing celebrity guests throughout the run, host unforgettable talkbacks with our audiences, and share the experience with more than 200 community members through free tickets, bringing so many new audience members into the theater.

With nearly the entire run completely sold out, the energy in the room was electric every night.

Award‑winning TV and film producer Lena Waithe is reintroducing herself as a playwright — and she chose Baltimore Center Stage for the premiere of "Trinity" the first play she's ever written and starred in.

Waithe and her team spent a year and a half in a writer's room developing the play, which she also stars in. When it was ready for audiences, she knew just where to bring it. In collaboration with director Stevie Walker‑Webb, Trinity has been selling out performances, earning an extended run, and drawing celebrity supporters —like Issa Rae, Debbie Allen, Megan Good, Vic Mensa and more.
