That’s right - big news coming out of @peddlermkt today - after twelve years helping kickstart Sheffield’s street food revolution, they’re now heading in a bold new direction 🎶

What began as a food-first gathering with a couple of music stages attached is evolving into something bigger: a free-entry, five-stage monthly music festival spread across its familiar Kelham Island home, with live bands, DJs, record shops and local promoters taking centre stage.

Food isn’t going anywhere – far from it – but co-founder Jordan Roberts says it’s time to shine more of a spotlight on the musical talent on-site.

“We’ve always been a street food event with two music stages,” he explains. “Now we’re expanding to five stages, working with some of the best emerging and established promoters from Sheffield and beyond.”

The first edition of the reformatted Peddler lands on the usual first Friday and Saturday of the month, 5–6 June, promising a sprawling, multi-space experience inspired as much by classic city festivals as warehouse parties and independent culture.

The event will also place a huge emphasis on collaboration with Sheffield’s independent music community. Among those involved in the first edition are @side5tep, @funkydrummer_sun,
@tzara.music, @midnightcreatures alongside local record shop @hub.store.uk.

After a long hiatus, Side5tep is back with our 1st event of the weekend @peddlermkt Courtyard on Fri | 5 | Jun.

Kicking us off are the fresh faces of @c10c.live who’ve been making their mark as of late, followed by energised upstarts @turniptheband who’ve been on a tear of steel city venues in recent months

Then it’s on to the anthemic authority of @cruzemusic_ who’ll bring up the noise and then on to @skiptrack_ who’ll set fire to the stage with thrashing drums and booming guitars

Our penultimate performers are local punk superstars @public.commodity who’ll be blending riotous originals with well-known anthems, and then closing out the night are headliners @april_tapes a legendary indie outfit with some impeccably catchy tunes.
