In the summer of 2024, Lukas and I went on a mission. He told me about this spot in Zurich where, back in the day, @luckaempfen did a Smith stall and how he’d always wanted to skate it too. I knew the spot, and honestly, it’s a ridiculous thing to skate.

So this summer, Lukas was hyped to finally check it out. The first idea was to hit it from the bottom with a wooden plate, but that felt almost impossible. Instead, he decided to try a roll-on tailslide. While we were already stoked on the landed trick and the shot, Lukas realized he’d slightly over-rotated one try and ended up in a switch crooks.

A few days later, he went to the skatepark, learned a roll-on 180 switch crooks and the following weekend, we went back to the spot. It was a mental and physical battle. But in the end, the fight (and the pain) paid off. Lukas landed it. One of the few who’s ever skated this spot.

Thanks for the trust, @lukasmaeder.ch . That one was well earned. 😤🤝

’Back in 2018 I received a message from my homie Thomas, that he has found an untouched spot. It didn’t even take me a second to realize the potential of this spot. Located in the North of Switzerland, next to the German border. It’s surrounded by agricultural fields and maybe the only bit of skateable concrete is exactly next to the rail. As if it was meant to be skated. Thomas immediately landed the 5050. So he decided to do a 5-0. After the first try, when I checked the image on my camera, I directly felt happy how it turned out and I knew that shot is going to be one that I will like for a long time. Maybe it’s because it’s not the typical “every day skatespot”. Or maybe because so much nature was involved. Thomas and I are not skating very often together. But he always hits me up with crazy new spots. So it’s always a pleasure to create something with him.’
