Next month I’ll be joining @froknroll on tour, opening the shows. I’ll be playing some new songs that haven’t been performed before. They have been kept close for a while now.

We will play them in their purest form, stripped back to their essence.

It has become a practice to move at the speed of noticing. To return to the small things I left behind. Painting after a long studio day. Or walking during blue hour, watching the moon shimmer on the water. Holding my cats close and listening to their soft purr.
Taking time almost feels rebellious these days. Even the phrase ‘taking time’ makes it sound like something is being stolen. And yet, the world feels richer when I do.

For months I felt a strong urge to disappear. To hibernate in the dark.
Which feels contradictory for an artist, as most artists long to connect and be seen.
Most days you’d find me in my notebook, or somewhere in nature. Both gave me something I needed. Still, I started to miss the feeling of connection, and had to keep reminding the inner critic to be quiet. All those songs in the vault that I care so much about, they want to come out.

Anyway, I’m happy to be back here. How are you? What books have you been reading?
I’m currently finishing Just Kids by Patti Smith and diving in the work of Bill Viola.
