May 21: This Thursday's lineup will feature a stellar lineup starting with the magical melodies of Grim the Green, our local wizard bard, followed up by the lonesome coyote-howls of Truman Kennedy, straight from the hollows of the Ozarks, the soulful acoustic vibes of Caleb Harrel (Chicago), and Jerboa, one of our fav local college bands, freshly back in town from COMO for summer break.

Also on this date:In 1927, Charles Lindbergh completed the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight in the Spirit of St. Louis, and ALSO, only five years later in 1932, on the same date, Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean. My arms are tired just thinking about it.

We’re also tipping our hats to all the folks keeping the party going, as it’s National Waitstaff Day. Industry discounts all night! Invite your favorite bartender to the show*. We have Fernet and Stag. They will be well cared for.

If that's not sweet enough, we are also celebrating the ultimate dynamic duo because May 21st is National Strawberries and Cream Day. So, of course, we are leaning into the berries.

On the menu, we’ve got a hearty Southwestern Blackbean Bowl, and for dessert, we’re serving up a Strawberry Cream Olive Oil Cake that you didn't even know you were craving. It’s the perfect way to celebrate National Strawberry Month.

May 14: This Thursday's lineup will feature the soulful vocals and gentle guitar styles of Kayla, the unique soundscapes of Boxwood Currents, the loud effect-heavy pedal board magic of She/Wrex, and Oly's relaxed acoustic strumming n' crooning.

Also on this date: the Lewis & Clark Expedition launched their journey from St Louis back in 1804. But more importantly, it's both National Buttermilk Biscuit Day AND Dance Like a Chicken Day.

So, yes, of course, we are going to have Chicken 'n Biscuits on the menu. And I'm definitely going to try to convince at least one of the performers to drop the Chicken Dance into their set.

I'd tell a joke about biscuits, but I don't want to over-knead it. Seriously though, it's going to be a clucking good time. The biscuits will be flaky, but you shouldn't be... don't miss this show! B'gok!!

So, OBVIOUSLY, wear your best scrubs to the show, try one of our decadent desserts, and take advantage of our special discounted pricing on glasses of wine ALL NIGHT. The Grapes of Wrath? more like Gone With the Wine or a Tale of Two Chardonnays.
