How old were you when you had your first real drink?

My first time getting properly drunk was on my Church Ski Retreat. My buddy Rob had stole a bottle of Old Weller 107 proof Bourbon from his dad and smuggled it up the mountain while we sat in the back of the bus listening to Nirvana with the cute girls. I was 12 he was 13. Smoked my first cig later that night. We got kicked off the mountain the next morning and escorted back home.

Even at 12 we all want to get out of our heads. Quiet our insecurities. Feel in the moment.

Now I do it once a day in the gym.

Inspirational quotes aside, that before pic is after I had lost 60lbs of fat and started to build some muscle. I was so proud. I still am proud of that person. It takes a lot of hard work to make a drastic change. The pic from this week is what happens when you stay on that path and don’t go back to your old habits. It takes less work to maintain your progress, you get in the habit of living a new lifestyle, and the returns compound over time.
