Starting at 8 I used to steal my older sister’s high heels, while no one was around and practice my runway walk until someone found me.
I used to be told “you should model” only because I TOWERED over everyone going into middle school because that summer I grew 6 INCHES!!! I was so awkward. I always laughed it off because I felt so out of my body. I didn’t want to be seen. I just wanted to hide away. But I couldn’t because I stuck out like a sore thumb, was stick thin from growing so fast. No clothes fit me, so I wore boy clothes to try and hide it all. Or the same few outfits I found that actually fit me. 😅 I started to fail in school already at just 13-14 years old. I would cry myself to sleep every single night for years. I was told I “wouldn’t ever go anywhere” without going to college, let alone not finishing high school. I was constantly told I wouldn’t make it in life if I didn’t “turn things around.”

Now 10 years after starting my modeling career. I walk into any Target nation wide and my son sees me in the store. LIKE WHAT?!? 🥹 But to me it’s not just packaging. It is all the years of persevering. All the lonely tear filled nights. All the voices in my head from all the years of others telling me I wouldn’t make it. It’s also all of those that DID believe in me. All of those that didn’t give up on me & were patient through all the years of struggle.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped get me here, whether it was through support or doubt. Wouldn’t be here without you. 🫡

I’ll say it again for the people in the back. Someone choosing to protect their peace and practice healthy boundaries is not out to get you.

Instead of blaming them for the outcome of YOUR choices, you could try looking inward and start taking responsibility. Or not. Do you, but don’t be mad when people keep choosing better for themselves and you’re not included in that!

1. Accepting that others can only meet you as deep as they are willing to meet themselves.
2. No longer choosing to lose myself, trying to prove my worth to others.

My entire life I have endlessly lost myself fighting to show others that I’m “worth staying for,” “worth understanding,” “worth giving patience to,” so on and so forth. All while I was neglecting my own worth, the more they neglected me. I took it all personal. I took it as a reflection of how “unlovable I must be.” When I’m reality it was only ever a reflection of their internal world. How they view themselves. How deeply they were choosing to meet their own emotions & needs.

The moment I chose to stop chasing others understanding, acceptance, or love, is the moment that has almost broken me. And quite frankly I think it actually has.

As cheesy as this may sound, I know that I have to be completely broken down in order to rebuild myself. I am in the middle of enduring unimaginable loss. The hard I have had to choose and bare the weight of is breaking me in ways I could’ve never imagined and I am having to just watch it unfold. I have to trust myself through it all. I have to trust that I will show up for me everyday. That I will care for my own needs, act on my intuition, trust the fall, and know that as long as I show up for myself day in and day out regardless of outside noice or approval. I will slowly be able to love, trust, and accept myself.

This year I choose to trust myself and to rebuild from the darkest of darks. Send prayers cause we in IT. Lol 🥲🙏🏼

So just taking it day by day, working on giving myself the grace that is needed, and through that seeing my light and health come back. But damn this shit is HARD 😅🥲
