DJ TAKEOVER: BRINDLED 🐕

The root of Milwaukee’s indie noise-pop band Brindled (@brindleddd) is friendship. Lead vocalist Halle Luksich explained, “It’s a friendship beyond friendship, and you can’t quite find that anywhere except for being in a band. The creative output matched with the really deep relationships you can have with people is super special.”

For this DJ Takeover, the group shared ’80s electronic music from Oppenheimer Analysis and ’70s-inspired contemporary synth-pop from @, then (against all odds) proclaimed their devotion to “Trans” by Neil Young.

They also put out a call to action for a hypothetical outdoor music festival in which the lineup consists of local bands with dog-related names, (i.e @dogsinecstasy, @ladybird_famousband, @muzzlemke). Duh.

Very fun zine Q&A for the first issue of @noholdsnotrades that was recently released. Go and purchase a copy at @irvingplacerecords or Lion’s tooth bookstore so you can read it before the event!

Zine includes a feature interview with visual artist and tattooer, Daniel Higgs (also of Lungfish, The Pupils), plus content from Ray “Raghunath” Cappo (Youth Of Today), Jonah Matranga (Far, Onlelinedrawing), Porcell (Gorilla Biscuits, Judge), and tons more.

Our drummer @dwellered helped with the design and it looks amazing ❤️✨❤️✨

I am very proud of this release because it is from the heart, from the hurt, and made with a lot of intention. Alex Whittman did an incredible job on the design, making this a real keepsake for all y'all.
