Every Friday at Alexander’s Live,⚡️ Eclectic Electric ⚡️ brings a different corner of the underground to Chester — from garage, jungle, breaks and 140 to dubstep, techno, DnB and beyond.

Expect live DJs, live synth acts, crew takeovers, heavyweight sound, and a different vibe every week — all built around proper underground energy and community-driven dance music culture.

Canadian indie-folk music band The Fugitives make a long-awaited return to the UK this summer with a concert at Alexander's Live, Chester as part of a two-week UK tour to support their new self-titled album. The Vancouver-based band were formed in 2005 and have released seven albums. They've been nominated for a JUNO, as well as seven Canadian Folk Music Awards, including Best Vocal Group, Best Ensemble, and Best Songwriter. Having toured heavily across Canada, the UK and the EU for two decades, they've been awarded the Best Folk Album of the Year by the German Music Critics' Association, performed at Glastonbury and most major folk festivals. They were a 2020 Globe & Mail Top Arts Pick of the Year. The band, who were a huge hit when they played Montgomery on their tour in 2024, bring brilliant musicianship, top-notch songwriting, complex vocal harmonies and a funny, uplifting vibe to their live performances.

tipe are recognised as the definitive tribute to R.E.M., the band from Athens, Georgia who are widely credited as pioneers of alternative rock, influencing countless bands who would follow, including Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Radiohead.

R.E.M remain a model for young musicians everywhere: a band who always did things on their own terms, a band committed to doing the right thing for each other (such as splitting royalties equally), and never compromising on their artistic independence. They called it a day, on their own terms, in 2011, and have repeatedly ruled out ever reuniting.

Having played to tens of thousands of people all over the UK and Europe, and not least to Michael Stipe himself on the ‘One Show’ (Michael described them as ‘awesome’), Stipe are a professional six-piece, who, as huge fans of the band, take the music (if not themselves) seriously.
