I got to go to the Roaster Showcase hosted by @showroom.coffee , an open warehouse gathering of small roasters from across NYC.
What I appreciated most was how approachable everything felt. Specialty coffee can feel intimidating when youβre still learning, especially with roasters that donβt have physical cafΓ©s, so having the chance to try their coffees, ask questions, and explore everything in one space made the experience feel really welcoming instead of overwhelming.
Getting to speak directly with the roasters was easily the highlight. Hearing about their backgrounds, philosophies, and approach to coffee made me appreciate each cup even more, and I walked away learning so much from those conversations alone.

Please join us for our next event Sunday December 7th @secretcoffeenyc to celebrate our next coffee release, an amazing and unique Washed Coffee from Little Swamps Estate in Western Kenya!π°πͺ
Ms. Doris (pictured above) is the matriarch of Little Swamps, and under her leadership the Estate has produced some of our favorite coffees this year. We're extremely excited to be able to share their work with you all for our next release!
We will also have some excellent tea selections from @ajiritea alongside our roasts from Little Swamps, a salute to Western Kenya, where tea culture runs strong.π±

Our quality control involves intensive tasting and evaluation of each roasting session every week, to ensure consistency and quality over time. βοΈ

π±βοΈWhen we first started forming our thoughts around WORKER, we knew that experimenting with a variety of roast styles was a core component of the work we wanted to do. π±βοΈ
By focusing on small single lots of in-season coffees, sourced with full transparency and intensive quality control in order to maximize consistency, we are able to showcase how roast styles and development modulate the flavors of coffees. We also aim to present the incredible work that producers put into these lots in different frames, highlighting characteristics and strengths that may only emerge through different roast styles.
Different roasts for different brews, tastes, and experiences, all while forming an intimate relationship with one single coffee. Coffee lovers of all experience levels will find something to discover though our seasonal showcased coffee βοΈ
