what should I make with the wavy variant? 🤔

I fully expected everyone to vote for the straight version, so I just went ahead with it lol. 🙈

The 3D printed skirt is built from straight Elora modules and connected with pearls from @trimmingshopuk — printed in @elegoo white TPU on the @artillery3dofficial Sidewinder X2.

Exciting news: the files are now live on @Thangs3D! 🎉 I’ve just joined and will be uploading a lot more designs in the coming weeks (it’s quite the task hahaha).

Lately I’ve been intrigued with using eyelets as connection mechanism.

This is the first of probably a series of explorations of what is possible with this technique. 👀

3D printed skirt - part 1 🤩

I’ve been thinking about what project to make next, and the one most pulling my attention is a second iteration of the netted skirt made from Sylta modules.

When I wore it for the first time, some of the connections popped open which was such a pity cause it styles well and is comfortable to wear.

Three months ago I downloaded Blender, wanting to learn more about organic 3D modelling. It’s something I’ve been resisting learning, since it’s so different from what I usually do. Like I’d have to start from zero again. And after two hours of googling I was able to make a box… not joking. 😅

This is the usual learning curve, and I’d say the reason people abandon 3D modelling. BUT, I’ve noticed that if you can create cool stuff whilst learning it’s so much more fun. That’s how Tripo AI can really help, it will give you a base shape to start building and learning from. 🤩

My tips:
👉 Describe the object as a standalone artefact, not something interacting with a body.
👉 Only describe what you want the model to create, things like ‘avoid, remove, no’ seem to work less well.

I knoooow these questions are gonna come, so:
Test rings printed on @bambulab_official H2D with @3dhojor_official light yellow PLA. Creativity made possible on @apple MacBook Pro, fine tuning the 3D model on @nomadsculpt And finally the rings 3D printed in silver are ordered via @thangs3d Print on Demand.
