Announcing an album launch show for Utopia Ghost Ensemble, comprising members of Office of Aurora, @spyfrommoscow, @astraforward and assorted friends playing hymnlike songs that are not hymns and which might just about qualify as dreampop on the 4th June at the Ivy House.

Also playing are @flolines, who makes immersive lo-fi pop that blends songwriting with sound art, and the South London Drone Orchestra on their first ever live outing having skulked in a flat in Croydon for aeons.

£8 tickets inclusive of all fees, and which also subsidise free tickets for people who are unwaged.

It's currently in a flat but we'll move somewhere bigger if we get enough people to justify it.

I wish it wasn't worth saying, but to be clear trans, queer and non binary people will always be welcome in my home and at anything I'm involved in organising.

It's pretty difficult to articulate exactly what the SLDO does for me, and trying to discuss it online feels clunky and weird but massive shout out to everyone who's ever come to a session. Letting a bunch of largely strangers pack out a room in my flat to make a noise on whatever they can bring or is to hand has been one of the best things going on in my music life over the last year and half or so, and it's all very meaningful and nice.

Do come along sometime, though if we get many more people on the regular we might need to find somewhere bigger to play.

Also much as I probably curse myself by saying this, it's absolutely wild that there's been no tea or coffee spilled on the carpet thus far.

Dead Lions (Lions Do Swim) is out today and can be found on my Bandcamp and YouTube. It is the title track of a new mini album that will be released and performed with a special four person band at the Cavendish Arms on the 21st of May. Do come along!

This single and the album was recorded and produced by Chris at @utopia_ghost and it was great to at last include the lap steel guitar that I found for £30 at a carboot a couple of years ago. Also we're aware that with improvised music what feels good to play doesn't necessarily translate to what sounds good to an audience. We've mostly planned for that, don't even worry about it.
