Dark beer and fire nights ❤️‍🔥 The first one for the winter months is Friday, 29th May. 🍻

@grangegullybistro is pulling the spit out and they’ll be serving us delicious pork off the spit into the evening.

Porters, brown ales and stouts of all hues will be pouring across our taps - all independent, Australian owned and brewed of course. These speciality beers have been lovingly sourced by Carl and if there’s one thing Carl does better than anything else, it’s curating dark beers!

The fire’ll be on from 5pm, the mulled wine will be hot and fruity, the cocktails will be winter themed and serenity will be a plenty ✌🏻

Pop it in the cal and we’ll see you round the fire 😘

Thursday evening we’re hosting a special @sydwritersfest ‘In your neighbourhood’ event with the incredible @lallykatz joining our host @michaelakalowski in conversation. And the Poets are downstairs for their monthly open mic soiree!

It’s meat and veg tray raffle time on Friday arvo and then 🪩 disco 💃🏼 time later on with the legendary @dashboard_au @andrew.golden @maxarchive + PBC Dj’s @ninabakerjeweller @wai_apparel and @self_importance_river_blues raising money for our access ramp build with R(A)mped Up! #4 happening in the greenroom.

Sunday arvo is set with $28 roast specials @grangegullybistro and songsmiths @tomwestmusic and @livcartledge taking over the downstairs stage for an intimate show.

In the words of our President, George Catsi:
“We have worked hard to build a sustainable pokie-free club and to share our knowledge with others.”

The Going For Broke series, hosted by Shaun Micallef, explores gambling in Australia and how we have become some of the biggest gambling losers in the world — especially when it comes to poker machines.
The PBC features in Episode 3 as an example of a club choosing a different path and standing against gambling.

Tonight! Live music in the greenroom by @yesimleavingband - 8pm, tickets $15 at the door

Yes I’m Leaving return to the stage after a brief hiatus, bringing what New Musical Express once described as a “brutal onslaught of sweaty distortion and super‐fierce noise‐rock.”

They’re joined (and Sydney is graced) by the arrival of their comrades‐in‐arms No Action, up from Adelaide to deliver their endlessly catchy, sharp‐edged post‐punk.

From Newcastle, The Peewee50s bring their eclectic, art‐punk energy and a live set that swings between off‐kilter-catchy-as-hell hooks and restless momentum.

CUT/RUN kick things off with black‐hole rock’n’roll: fast, heavy, and carrying the finest pedigree, with members drawn from Idle Threat, Black Rheno Arsenico, and Succour.

All this to celebrate the release of the Post Holden / Cold Tough 7” split available to grab on the night, and out via Shove Records (Italy), Time as a Colour (Germany), and Makeshift Swahili (Scotland).
