@hillsboroinc released a new single today called “HotGirlTM” - premiering via @undertheradarmag 🎶

Hillsboro will release a three-part music film with their EP ‘A Party in Your Name’ out May 29, 2026.

The film is a collaboration between Hillsboro and director Kit Baronas of BELLAGONIST. A body horror love story shot on 35mm film, the trilogy is set in the fictional rural town of Bethel, a place described as existing somewhere between the prairies and a headache, where people don’t go to die so much as fade into nothing. The visual world draws from the intersection of Harmony Korine and Gus Van Sant’s rural realism with the heightened color and dread of 1970s Italian giallo horror.

“I was reading Kelefa Sanneh’s Major Labels and thinking about how pop didn’t really exist as its own genre until the ‘80s — pioneered by a handful of artists and producers using synthesizers and primitive drum machines. I wanted to pay respect to that organic electronic approach and make my own version of a pure pop song with an updated vision.” — @christiansean_

Lyrically, it’s about the climb out of isolation and into human connectedness — how too much solitude leaves you stunted, and the yearning to show yourself and be truly seen.

Audience members texted questions about life throughout the performance, prompted by instructions printed in the concert programme zines. In the ninth movement, “Thoughts to Texture Interlude”, messages were vocalized by the choir, whose voices were processed into electronics in real time. Messages also appeared as projection visuals.
