"Where'd you get that from"? I still vividly remember my phone chats with Biz. Occasionally I would post something online and my phone would ring with Biz inquiring where he could obtain the featured record. Always made me smile because he likely had 10 times the collection I have. Just made me realize that the art of digging and possessing musical artifacts is a true passion and lifelong spark that drives so many of us. Much respect to the mighty Biz, a true legend gone too soon.

The first book I ever read on hip hop culture. Found it at my local library at age 11 and was fascinated as I flipped through the pages. Fast forward 35 years and by sheer luck and determination I was able to talk my local librarian into giving me the copy that was at the branch. Apparently they discard books that have not been signed out in a 2 year timespan and this legendary artifact was months away from the dumpster. My connection to this book came full circle, and the story of its acquisition makes owning it all the sweeter.
